The 1st Singapore-Kansai Startup Business Meeting
The first Singapore-Kansai Startup Business Meeting was held on Tuesday, December 7, 2012.
In cooperation with Enterprise Singapore (ESG), we held an event in which five startup companies from Singapore related to nursing care and aging were invited to speak. Singapore, like Japan, has an aging population, and a variety of new technologies have been developed in this context. The most common technology for watching over people is the use of cameras, but some people are reluctant to install cameras because of the invasion of privacy issue, and there are places where it is not possible to install cameras in the first place. Therefore, startups have proposed technologies that use AI to recognize shouts and violent coughs, as well as technologies that recognize temperature. In addition to an indoor transport robot and a startup that analyzes brain waves, a startup that sells boiled eggs made with mushroom-derived mycoprotein also took the stage and attracted a lot of attention.

1. Techmetics Robotics (Automated In-building Conveyance), Techmetics Product Introduction
Techmetics Robotics is involved in a number of indoor automated transport robots. In the healthcare field, Techmetics robots are used in hospitals and nursing homes to automatically transport food, medicine, laboratory specimens, linens, waste, and other items. The robot has a maximum payload of 250 kg, a maximum speed of 1.5 m/sec, a 13-hour run time on a full charge, and can be operated with a smartphone.
2. Neeuro (a digital therapy solution for training and maintaining brain health based on BCI and EEG analysis by AI platform), Neeuro Product Introduction
Neeuro's vision is to empower everyone to take control of their brain health issues through the use of artificial intelligence and digital therapy. The digital solution, designed and manufactured in Singapore, works with the Neeuro SenzeBand, a low-power EEG headset, and NeeuroOS, a proprietary AI platform, to build technology to easily analyze, understand, and provide feedback on mental states from raw EEG signals. NeeuroFIT for Seniors" is a solution to help seniors stay mentally active and healthy by improving and maintaining attention, memory, spatial ability, judgment, cognitive ability, and flexibility.
3. soundeye (speech recognition technology and sound sensor), Introduction of Soundeye products
Soundeye provides safety management systems that use sound recognition technology as their core technology to detect abnormal sounds such as shouting, violent coughing, and explosions. Soundeye solutions are currently being used in many locations such as airports, nursing homes, and orphanages to increase staff productivity, ensure occupant safety around the clock, and respond quickly to incidents.
4. Illuminating Asia / HeatSig (Heat Sensor), HeatSig Product Introduction
HeatSig is a start-up company within the Illuminating Asia group, working on heat sensors. HeatSig is a startup company in the Illuminating Asia group working on thermal sensors. Thermal sensors installed in ceilings and other locations capture temperatures across 728 points, and big data identifies people and specific objects in a given space, which are then reflected in a colored heat map on the dashboard. Linked to the alert mechanism, any anomalies (e.g., people not moving in a restroom at a certain time) can be immediately alerted to the person in charge.
5. OSOME Food (plant-based functional food), URL; OSOME Food product introduction
OSOME Food develops plant-based functional foods. They are passionate about improving health and nourishing the body, while adhering to an ethical approach that eliminates anything that does not benefit the planet. All ingredients used in their products are natural, free of artificially fortified vitamins, gluten, refined sugar, dairy, preservatives, stabilizers, and additives, and they offer products that are gentle on the elderly and patients, targeting immune stimulation, anti-inflammation, and gut bacteria improvement. For example, the company's fully vegan boiled eggs are composed of mushroom-derived proteins.
