[Ubuntu Hub] A solution to provide education to learners without internet access
Ubuntu Hub is focused on making education accessible to learners in communities that are not connected to the Internet or have inadequate Internet services.
We are a blockchain-based learning network that aims to bring education to rural, un-internet-connected communities around the world. Our startup was founded in February 2021 and consists of four members with experience in educational technology, telecommunications, and social enterprise. Our company is not yet officially registered, but we plan to register in Kyoto, Japan. The core of our business is our proprietary technology, Ubuntu Box (U-Box). This is a blockchain-enabled, community-based wireless local area network (WLAN) through which users can access online educational platforms in near real-time and at an affordable cost.
Our technology provides a solution for learners in areas of the world that are not connected to the Internet. We are currently conducting a pilot study for Nigeria. We are currently piloting in Nigeria, as we have experience deploying similar educational solutions in Nigeria. We are also interested in expanding to areas within the ASEAN countries that are not connected to the Internet.
We are currently building our first U-Box prototype and sourcing it for partners.
