Information regarding JLCT Caregiving Japanese Language Proficiency Test
Implementation of the Nursing Japanese Proficiency Test, a Japanese language proficiency test focused on measuring communication skills in nursing care settings.
Until now, the Japanese language requirement for technical intern caregiving has been satisfied by passing the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, the J.TEST Practical Japanese Proficiency Test, or the Japanese Language NAT-TEST. In 2021, the Japanese Language Proficiency Test for Caregivers conducted by Shoin Co.
The "Japanese-Language Proficiency Test for Nursing Care" is a Japanese-language proficiency test focused on measuring communication skills in the nursing care field, which has been promoted by the Cabinet Secretariat as part of the Asian Health Initiative, and satisfies the N3 requirement.
I myself have been proposing this test for the past five years, saying that there is a need for a test specialized for nursing care that can be passed without difficulty after a year or so of work in the nursing care field.
The Nozomi Group's Overseas Caregiver Training Council has now become the administering organization and is helping to build a system that makes it easier for people in rural areas to take the test.
Until now, there were few opportunities to take the N3 exam in rural areas, and since knowledge other than nursing care was required, the hurdle to pass the N3 exam was quite high.
The system will be changing in the future, and I feel that passing the N3 exam will become more and more important as the duties are eased.
This Japanese-Language Proficiency Test for Caregivers will be held on November 5.
Since this will be the first time for the Council for the Training of Overseas Nursing Care Workers to administer the test, we have set up a venue in Nagano Prefecture as a first step.
