HR Development is key to Thailand's Industrial Transformation
One of the key areas the Industrial sector of Thailand is to transform the country's industrial sector from the current traditional industry into advanced industry. One of the ingridents to help Thailand on the pathway to success in this transformation is through the human resource development
One good case studies is from, Sumipol Institute of Manufacturing Technology or SIMTec, which emphasize the area of human resource development, skills and labor skills to gain knowledge and understanding in various fields of production curriculum that meets the needs of the industrial sector in the age 4.0, able to use modern machinery efficiently. Training is focused on demonstration and action for engineers, technicians in the industrial sector.
SIMTec, a not for profit organization, has been founded through the public-private collaboration among government agencies and private organizations, along with 18 world-leading machinery and tool manufacturers, mostly from Japan, that have installed their machinery and equipment in order to develop the skilled personnel to meet the demands of industries in the Industry 4.0. The education will focus on demonstrations and practical training for engineers and technicians in industry, teachers in educational institutes and training centers, as well as students. There are three types of skills that are the focus: machining, precision measuring, and factory automation.
