Conducted a meeting with the Chairman of Singapore Manufacturing Federation
On Wednesday, December 1, 2021, MMA President Masayoshi Matsumoto met online with Douglas Hu, President of the Singapore Manufacturing Federation.
Chairman Matsumoto reported to Chairman Hu on the progress of the ABC platform project and requested continued cooperation. Chairman Hu stated that he would strongly support the ABC platform project and expressed his strong willingness to cooperate with the Association.
Furthermore, we were able to reach a consensus to proceed with discussions toward holding a plenary meeting of the ABC Platform in Singapore (in FY2022).
They also discussed cooperation toward Singapore's participation in the Osaka-Kansai Expo, as well as the International Financial City initiative.
Regarding the International Financial City, Chairman Matsumoto stated, "In Osaka/Kansai, the government, economic organizations, and businesses are working together to study strategies to realize an international financial city." Chairman Hu responded, "If you consult with us, we will respond," and both sides expressed their willingness to cooperate for the future development of an international financial city.
